Over the past few weeks, I have been developing a new project for The Design Craft: The Design Index, a curated, community-powered directory of global design, art, and maker resources.
The project grew naturally from my own research for The Design Craft, my design client work, and my experience as a design educator. It reflects years of collecting and organizing links to studios, suppliers, publishers, and educational platforms that value quality and craft.
The goal is to create a well-maintained and trusted reference for designers, students, makers, and educators. The Design Index brings together global creative resources in a searchable and organized format, helping people find reliable, high-quality sources of inspiration and production.
Visitors can search by category, material, region, or concept. Each entry includes a verified link, a short description, and relevant tags that make it easy to explore. Behind the scenes, moderation tools, link checking, and smart duplicate detection keep the collection accurate and consistent over time.
This is the first public release, more curated resources will be added soon and regularly as the directory continues to grow and evolve.
